When you are
believing God to do awesome things in your life, everyone won’t believe with
you. Some people will think your divinely inspired dreams, visions and goals
are foolish, or much too far-fetched to ever come to pass.
Some well-meaning individuals will try to gently talk you out of it.
Then, there will be those not-so-well-meaning folks that will laugh in your face and make you feel small.
But that’s okay. Let them doubt and mock you. God is still able.
I’ve told you before about how God first gave me the vision for Empowering Everyday Women Online Magazine. When I initially shared it with someone I thought would be a supporter, they stomped on my idea and told me it would never work.
Literally, that person laughed in my face and refused to help me.
I was devastated.
I can only imagine how much worse it felt for Hannah, the barren wife of Elkanah, when her adversary Peninnah teased her for not being able to have children in 1 Samuel 1.
Poor Hannah wanted a baby so badly, as her mean-spirited nemesis was just popping out children left and right, and poking fun at Peninnah all the while.
But laughter and unbelief from the enemy, though hurtful, cannot stop or overturn the plan of God.
At the appointed time, after Hannah cried out to God with her whole heart, the Lord opened her womb and blessed her with a son named Samuel, which means “Heard of God.”
I, too, can testify of God’s faithfulness and the “exceedingly abundantly above” blessings He has bestowed upon me because of my obedience.
My friend, He is going to prove Himself loyal and more than able in your life.
He sees your needs.
You are heard of God.
He knows the enemy is taunting you and telling you how crazy and off your rocker you are for thinking God can turn your barrenness into fruitfulness.
But the devil is, always has been, and always will be a liar.
John 8:44 NIV says, “...there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” This is the scripture I’m stirring into your cup of inspiration to remind you not to feed into the false claims of Satan.
He will tell you just the opposite of what you are hoping for and believing God to do in your life. If you allow it, your chief adversary will convince you that the Lord neither hears nor cares about your struggles and needs. He will say there is no hope or help for you in God.
But not only can God turn things around, He will.
Just don’t lose the faith. Don’t give up hope. Be persistent. Keep working toward your goals. Ignore naysayers who try to cast a shadow of doubt over your vision.
Know that God has heard you and your answer is on the way!
Now let’s pray.
God, thank You for reminding me that discouragement and doubt are weapons the enemy uses against me to attack my faith in Your promises, provision, and proven faithfulness. Help me not to get discouraged while I wait, but to continually trust You for my turnaround. I believe my set time is coming and I thank You in advance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
