These days,
I hardly ever get to watch television because my schedule won’t allow it. Honestly,
I have never been a really big TV viewer anyway.
Back when I did have more free time to flip through channels, my remote would mostly stop at HGTV.
I was a sucker for those do-it-yourself home improvement shows. “Weekend Warrior” would be a classic example of my definition of can’t-miss reality TV.
I know.
My top television-viewing pick isn't exactly the definition of exciting for some. Still, I’m sure I have some Daily Cup readers who, just like me, totally dig that DIY entertainment.
I like watching people face the trials and triumphs that come along with taking on a bold new challenge, and seeing it through to the end. Despite ups and downs, tight budgets, and less-than-perfect outcomes, they keep on pressing on.
That is how life really is.
Doing new things requires challenging, stretching, and pushing yourself to accomplish not-so-easy tasks.
Can it be frustrating at times? You bet it can! But if you stick it out and are willing to endure the nerve-racking struggles inherent in the process, you will do more than you ever thought possible.
You see, painting rooms, redecorating, or designing on a dime is no different from any project you begin. Whether recreational or central to your divine purpose, diligence, determination, and follow-through is required for completion.
My friend, passionately taking on a project is only the first step. But after the adrenaline wears off; the excitement dies down; the reality sets in; and the original deadline for completion comes and goes with more work left to be done, will you abandon it, or complete it?
You have the power—and favor—of God on your life to finish.
You just have to decide to get it done.
To help you complete the task God has called you to do, I’m stirring the words Paul spoke to the Corinthian church into your cup of inspiration.
They are found in 2 Corinthians 8:11 NIV.
He said, “Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.”
When you drink down the contents of your cup, you will be reminded that it is not good enough to start. God wants you to finish.
You can do this.
If you will just put your hands to the task and trust Him, the Lord will “do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20 ESV).
Now, let’s pray.
God, here I am, fully ready to complete the assignment You have given me. Today, by Your power, I eliminate excuses, distractions, fears, and release all limitations. By faith, I commit to putting my hand to the task with confidence that You, through my willing obedience, will accomplish Your ultimate purpose in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
If you need prayer, don't hesitate to request it. I would be honored to stand in faith with You. I know that prayer works. CLICK HERE to learn how to submit your prayer request.
