I just love childrens'
storybooks. They are so wonderful. They have a way of making everything exciting and cheerful. Even when something not-so-good happens, usually, there
is a happy ending and a sense of closure at the end.
As adults, we realize that consistent happy endings and fun-filled fairytales are not real and life is truly complex sometimes. But still, that doesn’t mean we have to walk around being depressed.
It is through hard times, tough lessons, and less-than-pleasant experiences that we mature. We learn about ourselves, grow in our faith, and become more empowered to handle greater challenges in the future.
The thing I like about God is, even though He never promises to shield us from hurt, pain, hardships, and setbacks, He never carries us into a storm we are not equipped to come out of in once piece.
Always remember that.
God is not some sadistic, mean, cosmic tyrant who gets great pleasure from seeing us squirm. Rather, He takes us through things that will, by degrees, mature and equip us for what lies ahead.
So if you're going through right now, have lost something precious, and are struggling to understand, this post is for you.
Whenever God strips something or someone away from you or allows you to go through an extremely trying test, it's because you're in a position to face it head on and still survive. He knows how much you can bear, so if you're going through a rough time, know that you are ready to deal with it and still come out victoriously.
You see, the road you've been traveling up to this point was designed to prepare you to handle the situation you're facing today.
God has been strengthening you and getting you ready for this very moment. And although what has happened might be unpleasant and difficult, you're ready to handle it. You have everything you need to come through all of this and remain spiritually, mentally and emotionally intact.
You can handle it.
Every test you've withstood in the recent and distant past has sharpened you and refined you for this moment. Perhaps you didn't understand what God was doing at the time and still may have a bit of uncertainty, but God was and is working on you.
Today, don't worry about the challenge you're facing.
Instead, focus on the fact that God has already empowered you to get through this.
Know that you'll rebound. You'll bounce back. You'll be alright.
I'm telling you; you've got this because God's got you.
Right now, to encourage you in the midst of tribulation, I’m stirring John 16:33 into your cup of inspiration. It says, "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
When you drink down the contents of your cup, you will take comfort in knowing that the same conquering savior that overcame death and the world, lives inside you. And He has already equipped and empowered you to do all things.
Now let's pray this simple prayer together.
God, today I open my heart to receive supernatural strength to go through. Despite the way things seem, I believe I will come out victoriously on the other side. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
