When I think
back and reflect on how difficult the past couple of years were, and how God
has strengthened and restored me, my heart gets so full.
This is why I cried pretty much throughout the entire speech.
I was so overwhelmed receiving the SistaFriendz “Stellar Women of Gospel” award in Nashville Saturday, along with other women of influence I highly respect.
SistaFriendz Founder, Toya Beasley, put together such a beautiful event at the exquisite Gaylord Springs Clubhouse & Pavilion – Upper Clubhouse. I will never forget the experience or the honor.
I am deeply appreciative.
While I sat at my table watching a video introduction about my life and ministry work, it felt surreal. As I listened to the very sweet recording artist Jessica Reedy present the Stellar Women of Gospel award to me, I felt humbled.
And when my time came to give my acceptance speech, I felt overcome by emotion, and the tears flowed… and flowed… and flowed out of me. It actually took a few minutes to collect myself after returning to my table.
God is good!
I was already floating on cloud nine after having such a high time in the Lord at the “Infinitely Beyond Women’s Conference” at Lighthouse Word Ministries in Wadesboro, NC. Apostle Reginald and Pastor Emma White were such gracious hosts who allowed me to flow in the spirit freely.
The Lord met us in that place in such a mighty way! He sent an on-time word and refreshed our spirits the way only He can.
I even had the opportunity to re-connect with Pastor Cassandra Elliot, the anointed woman of God who hosted me for “The Gathering” just a couple months ago in Greensboro, NC where I taught, sang, and basked in the glory of God.
Not to mention, my brother, Andre Brinson played the organ for me as I ministered in Wadesboro. And a dear friend, Trish, made the drive along with a guest, to support the ministry and be in the presence of the Lord.
I feel so blessed.
Just hours before flying in for the women’s conference in Wadesboro, I was in Atlanta on set at WATC-TV 57 for a taped appearance on Babbie Mason’s program, “Babbie’s House.”
She and I had such a powerful discussion about being empowered through Jesus Christ to live out your life’s purpose. I believe the millions of people who will see the interview, will be blessed.
I even was able to spend a brief amount of time with my dear sister, Laquinte and longtime family friend Greg , who live in Atlanta. We laughed, shared, and enjoyed each other’s company.
It was a good time for sure.
Although January 17-19 was packed with flights, obligations, and events that left me pretty exhausted, I have no complaints. God carried me through the demanding and exhilarating week.
Finally, when I returned home, I walked into a room full of roses, sparkling cider, and cards from my sweet husband Kenya. He congratulated me on the Stellar Women of Gospel award, encouraged me to continue on in ministry, and told me how “proud” he was of me.
Instantly, Daily Cup family, I was reduced to a puddle of tears as our children grinned, and gave me cards they had made for me as well.
Kenya and I celebrated 15 years of marriage last week.
Again, I feel so blessed.
After all the things I’ve been through over the past couple of years, in 2013, I see God’s hand of restoration and manifestation working in my life.
Through the sickness and recovery phase that seemed like it would never end, the Holy Spirit within me would not allow me to give up. With God’s help and by His power, I held on to hope and faith in the good plan God has for my life.
I’m so glad I did!
If you hold on, you too, you will experience supernatural restoration and breakthrough in your life.
To remind you of this encouraging truth, I’m stirring Joel 2:25a NLT into your cup of inspiration: “The Lord says, ‘I will give you back what you lost…’”
When you drink down the contents of your cup, you will be inspired to continue moving forward and believing that all is not lost. In fact, in the words of Zechariah 9:12b, God wants you to know, “I will restore to you double.”
So don’t forfeit the dreams God has placed in you and don’t be discouraged by present difficulties or harrowing circumstances! God’s word will come to pass in your life and He will restore you.
I’m a living testimony.
Now let’s pray.
God when discouragement with my present circumstances comes to stamp out my faith for future breakthroughs, please remind me that restoration is coming to my house. In all things, teach me to believe in the sovereignty of Your will and the surety of Your promises spoken over my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
