Ever since I returned from North Carolina a week ago, I have been feeling a bit under the weather. Initially, I figured I just needed a couple days of sleep and rejuvenation and I’d be okay.
But then, my minor symptoms continued to worsen. Over the weekend, I was hacking, feverish, unable to digest my food, bedridden and feeling horrible. Then, my voice packed up its box and left me.
Without a voice, doing my daily radio show is impossible. And clearly, talking in a raspy whisper, while being achy and periodically coughing to the point of gasping for air, is no condition to be in to carry out a 3-day revival.
I had been holding out hope against hope that all would be well by now, but yesterday, it was undeniable. I’m going to have to sit down and let whatever virus this is that has attached itself to me, run its course.
Earlier, on my Facebook page, I relented and informed everyone that “my revival in Lackawanna, NY originally set for Dec. 19-21 has to be rescheduled. These flu-like symptoms are taking a toll on me and my voice is completely gone, so I’m at home recovering. Send up a few prayers for me.”
Even though I can’t talk, I thank God that I can still speak through my writing. Though it pains me when I can’t fulfill all my responsibilities, I know God is sovereign and He does all things well.
So instead of being saddened by what I can’t do, I’ll just do what I can do.
I can’t sing or speak with my voice, but thank God there’s a song and prayer in my heart that God is still able to hear. I might not be able to run and jump around until my strength is fully replenished, but nothing can stop my worship and praise for all God is, and all He’s done.
This is what I want you to get from this blog post today.
Don’t focus on what you can’t do, but get busy doing what you can do. Don’t concentrate on what you may have lost; give God glory and work with what you have left.
Amen?
Know that the Father’s will, will be accomplished in your life.
God is for you and He’s carrying you through whatever you’re facing right now. His hand is on Your life and there’s nothing that can separate you from His love.
To remind you of this truth, I’m stirring Isaiah 51:16 NIV says, "I have put My words in your mouth and have covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, 'You are My people.'"
When you drink down the contents of your cup of inspiration today, may you be reminded that you are God’s treasure and prized possession. You are forever in the Lord’s care. The very God of the universe, who laid the foundations of the earth knows all about you and me.
So take comfort in in Psalm 139:2 NASB that says of the Lord, “You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.”
He’s fully aware of where you are right now.
You are on God’s mind and in His hands.
Now let’s pray.
God, even though things don’t always go my way, remind me that if I’m in Your will, that’s all that matters. In good times and bad, through ups and downs, through trials and triumphs, as long as I remain in the palm of Your hand, I am right where I need to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
