This week has been a doozy, but thank God, I made it through. I had not planned on being sick and homebound. Yet, I won’t complain. In fact, I am thankful that I feel better today than I have all week long.
Your prayers have been working.
I slept well last evening and I’m finally sensing relief from the symptoms that have kept me feeling awful. And, my voice is coming back. It’s still a bit weak and I’m sporadically hacking, but I can speak above a whisper at least.
Now, I just want to sing something—anything!—to celebrate being able to utter sounds.
Anyone up for a scratchy lullaby?
Well, anyway, yesterday afternoon, I wasn’t feeling the best when I received a custom e-greeting wishing me a speedy recovery, and giving me some biblical encouragement.
How nice was that?
I was so touched by that random act of kindness from a person I just recently connected with through a mutual client and friend. Knowing they thought of me enough to go out of their way to express it, moved me.
It’s the simplest things that mean so much.
Do you ever feel that way about the goodness of the Lord? Boy, I sure do. Sometimes I just stand in awe of the countless ways—great and small—He shows little old Dianna that He cares enough to address the things that concern me.
Just think about all the ways God shows you His love.
When you’re down, He lifts you. When you cry, He wipes your tears. When you feel alone He holds you. When you think you can’t go on, He gives you grace and strength to carry on another day. When it seems you are forgotten, He reminds you that He knows, sees, and cares.
He’ll send a word your way; have someone be a tangible blessing to you when you need it most; encourage your heart through a song, sermon, conversation… or an e-greeting.
Somehow, someway, the Lord has endless methods of showing you that you are the object of His affection.
As I told you in Tuesday’s blog post, “You are God’s treasure and prized possession. You are forever in the Lord’s care. The very God of the universe, who laid the foundations of the earth knows all about you and me…”
It might be hard to fathom, but it’s so true. He’s crazy in love with you and thinks about you all the time. Isn’t it awe-inspiring that such a great God thinks so much of you me?
That’s why I’m stirring Job 7:17 ESV into your cup of inspiration that says, " What is man, that you make so much of him, and that you set your heart on him?”
When you drink down the contents of your cup, though you may not know why God loves you so much, I pray you will be assured that He does.
And in case you hadn't noticed, this blog post is just another one of God’s reminders today that you are incredibly special to Him.
Now let’s pray.
God, I thank You for loving me and caring about all the things that concern me. In the moments when I feel down, please open my eyes to see all the ways You demonstrate and validate the great mystery of Your unending devotion to me. Thank You for pursuing me with Your love. I stand in awe of You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
