Sometimes in life you can’t see the forest for the trees. Occasionally, you need to step back and get a little perspective.
This is especially true when you’ve been hurt and wounded by life.
You know, we all have felt the bitter sting of loss, betrayal, injustice, and mistreatment in some way or another. That’s the one thing about life that maturity helps us accept.
Painful encounters and challenging incidents are unavoidable no matter who we are, where we’re from, or how much we strive to avoid them.
Some days will feel incredibly rough and certain events will pierce us to the core of our souls. But these trying tests are not designed to knock us down, but rather, to build us up into stronger, thicker-skinned, more determined individuals.
It doesn't feel fair, but there is a reason why God allows pain.
My friend, it is those prepared by pain, not pampered by privilege, that are best positioned for purpose. If you don’t allow what hurt you to hinder you, the experience gained will help you fulfill your destiny. Remember, God allows some painful things, not to break you, but to make you into the person He created you to be.
To remind you of this truth, I’m stirring Isaiah 48:10 NIV into your cup of inspiration. It says, “See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.”
When you drink down the contents of your cup today, you will accept pain as a tool of refinement, not as an instrument of destruction.
When painful winds blow through our lives, God is our stabilizing source. And any movement that does occur only leads to our improvement.
Now let’s pray.
God, thank You for helping me accept pain as a natural part of life. When I feel overwhelmed by it, please remind that it will not destroy me, but that all things will work together for my good in the end. And any time it becomes unbearable, help me trust You, the bearer of all my burdens to sustain me through it all. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
