When the year book came out in my senior year of High School, aside from
my tiny class photo, I wasn’t anywhere else in there. I wasn’t named “Most likely to succeed,” or “Most Popular,” or “Most Likely to be Remembered.”
Nothing.
And when I earned my diploma, since my grades were pretty poor, I received no additional awards or special recognition—not even a certificate for perfect attendance.
As I clunked across the wooden stage in my black platform sandals I still remember so well, there was no huge roar of the crowd the way there was for my classmates in the “cool” cliques.
But did that mean I would never be anything and that I was doomed to fail just because my peers didn’t view me a certain way? Did my poor grades mean I would never amount to anything ever in life?
Nope. It didn’t mean that at all Daily Cup family.
All along, even in my failures and obscurity, I was creative, bright, and interesting in my own unique ways. All those years ago, before anyone saw it, God already knew what plans He had for my life.
The same is true for you.
Your current circumstances, struggles, and experiences may seem to signify that God has no plans to do anything at all with you. But He does.
Not only that, but, others’ failure to recognize your value doesn’t invalidate you. Their inability to see your true worth doesn’t change the fact that you are priceless, precious, and special. If they don’t applaud, praise, or endorse you, you are still as amazing as God created you to be.
The truth is, God’s extraordinary plans for your life, if you knew them fully, might make you laugh the way Sarah did in the Bible. Do you remember in Genesis 18:12 when she overheard the “three men” telling Abraham that she would have a child in her old age?
The Scripture tells us she cracked up because the impossibility of it all, at least in her mind, made it utterly ridiculous. But implausible or not, Sarah gave birth to a son, Isaac, whose name meant “laughter.”
That right there proves that God’s plans are independent of man’s opinions. When He gets ready to move in your life, it doesn’t matter who doesn’t believe it or how unlikely it is to happen. If God said it, He will do it.
To remind you that God’s plans will prevail, I’m stirring a portion of Jeremiah 1:5 NIV into your cup of inspiration. It says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you…”
When you drink down the contents of your cup today, you will walk away knowing that what God has predestined for you, supersedes any of your limitations—physical or mental. What He has ordained to be so before the very foundations of the earth were laid, will occur in your life.
Just continue to walk with Him and know this: when God sees something great in you, it’s because He put it there before you were formed in your mother’s womb.
And there is nothing and no one that can stop you from giving birth to what God has ordained for His set time in your life.
Now let’s pray.
God, You know some things about me, my destiny, and my future, that I do not know or see yet. But still, I believe it’s going to happen because I believe Your word. I pray that You will help me to continue to trust You, even when I can’t see my way clearly. Please remind me daily that whatever You say, will be fulfilled according to Your will. Thank You in advance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
