I usually post brand new blogs daily.
But today, I heard the Holy Spirit's voice leading me specifically to a "November 11, 2008" blog post and instructing me to share it.
Never one to discount or dismiss what I sense is God's urging, I went back through my archives.
So, out of obedience, I'm posting this today. And though I don't know why specifically God wants this message delivered at this moment, I know He is sovereign.
So here it is. I know it will bless those who need it and remind them that, like a treasure chest, there is a wealth stored up inside them.
I talk to so many people that want to pursue their divinely-inspired
dreams and goals, but they often procrastinate for this one reason.
They believe that something or someone outside of themselves will make things happen for them. I call it, "Pool of Bethesda Syndrome". Do you remember the story in the Bible about the impotent man who was lying by the pool of Bethesda? (See John 5:1-15) The Bible tells us that his primary complaint was that he had nobody to help him get what he needed in order to be made whole.
But Jesus wasn't concerned with everybody else.
Rather, the Messiah questioned the man about his desire to be delivered from his bondage that had lasted for so many years. And then Christ told the man to get up. Now, to a casual onlooker, Jesus' response might have seemed a little cold, callous and unfeeling. Here's a man who had been in the same wretched condition for 38 years and Jesus wouldn't even entertain his "sob story"! It seems that this poor guy was entitled to his complaints.
But Jesus saw things differently; He knew that faith mixed with corresponding action would produce the positive results this man so desperately needed.
The same is true today.
God isn't concerned with how others play into the fulfillment of your destiny. Instead, He wants us to mix our faith with our actions and focus on all that He's already implanted in us to get the job done.
Today, I want to ask you, are you making the mistake of waiting for someone or something other than you to make things better in your life? Or are you trusting God to awaken YOUR willingness, desire, and determination to tap into what's already on the inside?
Certainly, we need God. That will never change. We don't ever rely on our own strength. We know that it is His power at work in us that ultimately brings forth any positive results at all. Having said that, we also must not become impotent in our thinking and forget that "Whom God calls, He equips" for every assigned task. We have been endued with power from on high.
Listen, all that you seek has already been implanted in you before the foundation of the world. But this doesn't guarantee that you'll reach your full potential--not unless you have the faith and fortitude to shake off procrastination and doubt in your own abilities, and break through to new levels of victory and accomplishment.
I want to share a principle with you that will help inspire you along your life's path.
Here it is: God will never task you with anything that you are unable to accomplish simply by utilizing what's already inside of you. In
other words, if the vision for your life is indeed from God, you'll
find that, you are fully equipped with all you need to carry it out.
Again, what is required of you is all inside.
But only you can activate your potential by moving and operating in faith. You have to begin taking steps, with full confidence that as you move in the right direction, God will grant you the grace, wisdom and power to complete the work.
You are more powerful than you might imagine. More rests on the inside of you than you may think. All you have to do is trust that God is working in your life and get moving.
Only then can you truly begin to see the outward manifestation of all that's on the inside.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
