Yesterday, I was sitting in the pulpit enjoying the duet being sung by two sisters before time came for me to deliver the word God had placed in my heart for the congregation. Just then, the pastor leaned over and began talking to me.
“The young lady on the right had two grand mal seizures and was in ICU just two weeks ago,” he said. “We prayed and God healed her.”
As I listened in awe, I lifted my hands in worship.
To look at the young woman, no one would suspect that she’d had any health challenges at all. So when I stood behind the podium to share the word of the Lord, before delving into the text, I took a moment to praise God for His miraculous healing power.
After He sent forth a yolk-destroying word, during the altar call, the Holy Spirit took over that young lady’s whole being. With tears streaming down her face, she got lost in His presence and received a mighty outpouring.
It was awesome!
After service, while I stood in the front of the church greeting the people, she and her sister came over to me and expounded upon her testimony. She told me just how bad off she had been. Her condition, that placed her in intensive care, was so serious, it looked like doctors wouldn’t be able to save her… oh, but God!
He had the final say and chose to raise her up as a testament to His greatness.
If you’ve ever been in a situation where the odds were stacked against you and it looked like you were out for the count, but you survived by the grace of God, then you know the Lord is able to help you beat the odds.
No matter how great the challenges, our God is greater. In fact, He’s the greatest of all!
Even when something is too hard, daunting, or impossible for us, with God all things are possible. With Him on our side, we don’t have to worry about being defeated. “We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:9 NLT)
I know what it’s like to be at death’s door and have the hand of God snatch me back and say not yet. I am fully aware of what it feels like to be in a deep valley, so low, that it seemed like I would never rise again. But God brought me up out of that horrible pit and He will do the same for you.
Perhaps an obstacle that is too great for you to overcome on your own is standing in your way. If so, don’t fret. Just know the Lord is on your side. Cry out to Him and watch Him give you a breakthrough.
To encourage you, I’m stirring Psalm 50:15 NKJV into your cup of inspiration. It says, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
When you drink down the contents of your cup, you will uplifted by the assurance that, when you call upon the name of the Lord, He will answer and deliver you out of your affliction. And those petitions you have before God will turn into praises for what He has done.
Just hold on to your faith and your test will turn into a miraculous testimony.
Trust me, I’m a witness.
Now let’s pray.
Father, I’m facing some challenges, trials, and situations that are too much for me to handle. I don’t know how to fix them, but I know that you are more than able to deliver me from every affliction. So today, I set my eyes upon You and place my confidence in You. I believe that You will deliver me and by faith, I praise You in advance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
