The sun was so bright when I awoke this morning Daily Cup family. I could hear the birds chirping outside my window. I just felt so peaceful and refreshed. I love spring days when it isn’t too hot, and the cool, quiet breeze floats through the house while all is yet still.
I thought I would be extremely tired today since I stayed up late last evening writing a new song. I had intended to go to bed much earlier, but the lyrics to the melody I’ve been rehearsing in my mind finally came to me.
I love it when that happens, though inspiration often runs on a completely different schedule than the one I prefer. There have been times when I was jolted out of a deep sleep by melodies and scriptures brought on by the Holy Spirit’s beckoning.
Depending on how weary I felt before turning in for the evening, those sleep interruptions were not always welcome!
I used to try to so hard to ignore the Lord’s incessant knocking on my consciousness and the pounding on the door of my heart. “I’ll get to it another time,” I would say. But experience has taught me that wherever the Holy Spirit leads, it’s best to follow.
No matter the time, place, or circumstance, doing what He says, when He says it, is paramount to living a life of purpose.
When you get inspired by the Holy Spirit to do something, obey Him right then. When you go with His flow, comfortable or not, you’ll find that things flow more easily for you.
The best news is, whatever He instructs you to do, God empowers you to carry it out and thrive while doing it. You’re not operating in your own strength, but you’re walking in His grace and authority.
You can get it done through Christ who enables you to do all things pertaining to the fulfillment of your divine destiny.
Isn’t that wonderful to know?
I’m telling you from experience. When you do things His way, you’ll look back and wonder, “How in the world did I get all that done?” Again, it’s because you’re not operating in your own strength.
To remind you of this, I’m stirring Isaiah 40:28-29 NIV into your cup of inspiration. It says, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
When you drink down the contents of your cup today, you will be reminded that, through your obedience to God’s leading, you tap into His supernatural power to do all He has called you to do.
You can and will get it done.
Just remember where your help comes from.
Now let’s pray.
God, thank You for reminding me that the fulfillment of my divine destiny is not dependent upon my own strength, but Yours. I ask that You would help me be obedient to Your leading, and confident that I am more than able to accomplish Your will because Your power rests upon me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
