I can hardly believe it’s already Friday.
Since the passing of my uncle last week, all the days leading up to the homegoing service seem like a blur. But the family, though blindsided by the loss, pulled together in prayer and love. And God, who is ever faithful, has ministered to every need each step of the way.
The joy and peace of the Lord is so refreshing!
You know, whenever something difficult comes out of left field—whatever it is—naturally, it throws you off balance. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, loss of an opportunity or relationship, or an unexpected trial of some sort, it’s not easy.
Life’s shockers feel like forceful blows to the stomach while your guard is all the way down. The impact of those hard shots knock the wind right out of you and double you over. It takes a moment to regain composure, breathe and stand upright again.
I know you can relate to life’s knocks and have experienced quite a few yourself. But thank God for how He instantly consoles, comforts and gives joy in the midst of it all.
Although we may not always understand why we have to go through what we go through, we do know how to get through we must go through.
Amen?
The power of God sustains us.
So we don’t search outwardly for others to satisfy our needs. We look upwardly, to God our Father, for strength, peace and hope. He soothes our weary hearts. He is our refuge and strong tower when we are weak. Everything we need is in Him.
So whatever you may be going through today, look to God for strength. To remind you to do this, I want to stir some encouragement into your cup of inspiration from Isaiah 40:29-31. It says, “He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
When you drink down the contents of your cup, you’ll recognize that the power you need to walk through the valley and not faint is found only in the Lord. Seek Him. Trust Him. Lean on Him. Hope in Him. Wait on Him.
Look to God.
That’s how your strength gets renewed and increased.
Now let’s pray.
God, thank You for being my refuge and strength in times of heartache, hardship and trouble. I will continually look to You for everything I need to sustain me daily. And I am confident, according to Your word, that You will empower and endow me with all I need to make it through. I know that with You, oh Lord, all things are possible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
