It’s been that kind of week. You know those weeks where your list of things to do is so long you already know there’s no way you can complete every task? So you do as much as you can until you finally have to make a decision to go to bed and just start all over again in the morning.
Yeah, it’s been one of those weeks for me.
And I’m still not done. But then again, am I ever?
Come to think of it, is any woman ever done?
Nah.
We just sort of roll with the punches and keep things moving along, right? By the grace of God, of course.
I find that the more hectic my schedule gets, the more my Word diet increases. I know for some it naturally follows that, if they have a busy season, they slack off on reading the word of God…among other things. Limited time means things get cut from their schedule. And it’s as simple as that.
For me, when it comes to busyness, if everything else gets nixed from the schedule, my time with the Lord is a first priority. Otherwise, I don’t have the strength or mindset to fulfill the numerous roles and responsibilities that fall to me.
I can’t imagine trying to complete mommy and wife duties, homeschool, manage staff, serve clients, negotiate business deals, fulfill ministry engagements, and all the things in between, without the word of God as fuel.
I am not that smart, strong, energetic, driven, or focused. Oh, but when I get in God’s word, divine revelation transforms my thinking. The power of God fortifies my spirit and I feel His strength replacing my weakness. Supernatural wisdom illuminates my mind so I can understand the "who, what, when, where, how, and why" of things... which are all critical elements of productivity.
So today, I’m stirring Matthew 4:4 NIV into your cup of inspiration. It reads, “Jesus answered, ‘It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Go ahead and drink it down and be reminded that no matter how busy you get, you can never get too busy to feed your spirit.
The word of God is your nourishment and sustenance. It is your very life.
Get in your word and stay there.
Lord, sometimes life throws so many things my way that it can be easy to allow busyness to overtake me. But I pray now that You would please help me never to get so busy that I don’t make time to hear from You. Because without hearing Your voice, I don’t know which way to go and I don’t have the strength to accomplish the tasks before me. As David said in Psalm 63, O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; My soul thirsts for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
