Earnest, my husband's dad, has passed away. Moments like this make me introspective. They remind me of how short life is and that we all, one day, will have to go the same way. That's why it is critical to use our lives to make a difference.
I believe we should strive to leave our footprints on the sands of time and that they should lead those who walk in them straight to Jesus Christ.
I know you all will never have the pleasure of knowing Earnest hobbs, Sr. But he laughed heartily, loved richly, and was a mean cook--something he passed along to his fine son, and my dear husband, Kenya.
Even though dementia robbed him of his memories before he went home to be with the Lord, he is remembered by those whose lives he touched.
You and I will be remembered also.
The question is, what for?
I admonish you to make everyday count. Focus on what matters most. And be true to your divine calling and purpose, so that when you die, you will die empty, having given everything you had. And the world will be fuller, richer, and better for you having been here.
With that, today, I'm adding adding a scripture, John 9:4ESV, into your daily cup of inspiration. It says, "We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work."
Whatever God has placed in your heart to do, don't be afraid. Be about it. Get it done. Life is too short. Make it count. Make a difference.
Make His name glorious.
God, thank You for this day, another day to live, love, laugh, and serve You with my life. Please teach me to treasure the gift of life and to use mine to serve You and lift your name high. In Jesus' name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, empower, and encourage you!
