I have a splitting headache with pain concentrated in my left temple. I felt a dull throbbing in my head in the wee hours of the morning while lying down. I hoped it would go away by the time I awoke, but it has only intensified throughout the day. Usually, at the onset of a headache, my husband Kenya tells me, “Take an ibuprofen babe before it gets too bad.” He knows that once that mild throbbing turns into excruciating pounding, even ibuprofen doesn’t help.
I don't know why I never listen. I tend to let the pain build up until I'm miserable, like right now.
Sigh.
Like my headache, when we allow things to build up, they might start out small. But they somehow morph into a massive, collective pain, literally and figuratively. Don’t they?
Although we’d like them to, issues don’t simply melt away—not most of the time, at least. Problems and situations have to be confronted and handled. Otherwise, things begin spiraling out of control. That’s why it’s better to take things head-on before they get too far gone.
Don’t do with your issues what I did with this headache and just sit idly by, hoping and wishing things will improve on their own. Do something to get rid of that "headache," whatever it might be for you!
You don’t have to walk around with it. The Lord is able to help both you and me. But first, there’s something we have to do.
Confront the problem.
Talk things out. Address the issue. Ask for help. Accept assistance. And by all means, we can never overlook the solution once God shows us what it is. We must apply it to our situation if we ever hope to see things get better.
If you're willing to do your part, you can avoid the uncomfortable and unpleasant side effects of the downward spiral which directly results from negligence.
And to help you apply the lesson from this post to your life today, I’m adding a popular quote to your daily cup of inspiration. It says, “You cannot conquer what you will not confront.” When you drink down the contents of your cup, you will be reminded that the things you ignore usually grow worse, but you don’t have to allow that to happen.
As you seek the Lord for clarity and direction, He will reveal exactly what you need to do. As long as you heed His voice, you won’t have to suffer the consequences of dismissing a problem that should have been confronted.
Right now, if you know this blog is speaking to you and you have an ongoing issue needing to be addressed, don’t fret. The Bible tells us in Romans 8:37 NASB, “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.”
If you’re courageous enough to confront it, by God’s power, you are strong enough to overcome it!
Lord, I thank You that You have given me the power, by Your spirit, to overcome any obstacles I may be facing. I pray that You give me the courage to confront any issues, problems, or hindrances in my life, with full assurance that I am victorious through Christ who gives me strength! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
