The outpouring of love yesterday had me full of tears and thanksgiving. Kind words, prayers, emails, Facebook posts, calls from friends near and far, and on-time words sent straight from heaven, poured in. Every single encouragement and prayer had me sending up a thank you Jesus. You see, what I didn't get to tell you in yesterday's post is, while I was lying in my hospital bed going into cardiac arrest and pleading with God for my life, I heard Him say so vividly, "You've got people praying for you."
I don't think I'll ever forget that moment as long as I live.
God did not say, "Dianna, rise up, take up your bed and walk." He surely could have. But, in His sovereignty, the Lord chose instead to make me aware of the effectual fervent prayers of the righteous, spoken of in James 5:16, that snatched me right out of the grip of death.
Even while my heart was going haywire and the doctors assumed my demise was imminent, in the midst of my distress, something transpired. All those requests sent up to God on my behalf found their way to that same throne of grace mentioned in Hebrews 4:16. As a result, God released His healing power that enables me to write to you today. When I didn't have the strength or ability to pray for myself, the Lord surrounded me with faith-filled prayer warriors, both near and far, who petitioned the Lord.
At this moment my heart sings that old song that says, "Somebody prayed for me, had me on their mind, took the time to pray for me. I'm so glad they prayed, I'm so glad they prayed, I'm so glad they prayed for me!"
Prayer works!
When everything that can go wrong does, I encourage you to pray with full assurance that we serve a mighty God who sits high and looks low. He loves to answer the call of His people. And in those times when your strength is all used up, gather up some folks who know how to get a prayer through to heaven. No matter how far gone a situation seems, when the people of God get on one accord and petition the Father, He will move.
I am alive today because God was merciful enough to honor the prayers of the saints. Somebody was saying, "Keep Dianna Lord. Touch her body. Bring her through that surgery. Give her strength Father. Encourage her heart Lord." I can gladly say, He did all that. And He's still doing great things because the prayers haven't stopped.
Thank God for the power of prayer!
I'm reminded of what Jesus told Simon in Luke 22:32. He said, "But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." Isn't it good to know that, still today, Jesus Christ advocates on our behalf?
He is upholding you and me through it all.
Whatever storms are raging in your life at this very moment, they cannot overcome the power of the prayer of faith. How do I know? Because my very life is a testament to that power!
TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, when the troubles of life knock me to my knees, help me to realize that that's the best place to be, as long as I am seeking You in prayer. And Father, when I cannot seem to muster the strength to pray for myself, surround me with intercessors who will boldly come before Your throne on my behalf. Right now, I thank You for confirmation that You have already heard and answered every prayer concerning my situation. It's already done. In Jesus' name, Amen.
