A couple years back, my little sister Alesha, who is an amazing vocalist, entered into a Christian talent competition. I found out late that she would be competing and my schedule was jam packed. I really couldn’t afford to take time out for it (It was an all day event!), but I wanted to be there for my baby sis.
Hesitantly, I rearranged my schedule and cancelled a few things to devote my day to supporting Alesha. I remember sitting in that theater looking around at a sea of red chairs feeling a little anxious about all the work I needed to be doing.
But eventually, I relaxed and allowed myself to just be in the moment.
Although Alesha didn’t win the competition, she did an amazing job, we had a blast and met some very interesting people—one of them ended up introducing me to a man named Kre8tor, who is now my producer. I had no idea what God was up to that day. I was supporting my sister as she sang, not knowing God was working to launch my singing career. That was the furthest thing from my mind at that time!
Funny how God works, right?
But He knew I would be there, and He was orchestrating things all along. What seemed like just a “chance encounter” was a God-ordained moment as I blogged about yesterday.
I believe that God is always working on our behalf, ordering our steps, and directing us. Even when we feel like we’re making routine decisions, God has a way of showing up and intervening in our ordinary, mundane circumstances.
I want you to know that everyday the Lord is with you, working on you, in you, for you, with you, and through you.
You’re not on your own, despite the times it seems that way. That’s why I can say be encouraged today no matter what you’re facing. God’s hand is in it. He’s working things out for your good. You may not see it now, but you’ll look back on this moment some day and say, “Oh! So that’s what He was up to!”
Perhaps He’s teaching you a lesson; connecting you to individuals to assist you along your path to purpose; or simply stretching you to prepare you for your destiny.
Whatever the case, you’ll understand it better in time. Just as my support for my baby sister turned out to be much more than that, this season in your life is more meaningful and valuable than you can perceive right now.
God’s hand is in it.
Today’s Prayer: Lord, when I’m going through life, I don’t always see Your hand at work. Sometimes it doesn’t even feel like you’re there. Please give me the faith to believe that even when I don’t recognize it, You’re yet working on my behalf. And for this, I thank You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
