I got a message on Facebook yesterday from a woman who had been trying to contact the consulting firm I own, Hobbs Ministries. For some reason, she could not get through to my staff on the office phone lines and no one had responded to her email message. After reading through her email I felt so, so awful. I immediately sent an apology and directed her to the appropriate staff contact.
When I looked into the situation further, I had my assistant Ari check for this woman’s original email, which had somehow gotten caught in our spam filters. Well, Ari set up a phone consultation with her and I felt led to take the call personally.
Initially, I focused on giving her some guidance about developing her brand. Before we hung up, however, the conversation shifted. She told me about how she reads the blog daily and enjoys EEW Online Magazine. That was just awesome! Then I shared some encouraging words I felt God was leading me to sow into her life about her pursuit of purpose. She got emotional and I knew we had made a connection.
That was much more than a business call. It was a God-ordained moment. The two of us were supposed to connect at this very time so I could help this woman give birth to the ministry God had planted in her.
Daily Cup readers, moments like this always make my spirit leap for joy, because they serve as evidence of what I tell you all the time. GOD orchestrates our destiny. He connects us to the people who will be instrumental in ushering us into our place of purpose. We have no cause to worry.
But sadly, we still find ourselves getting so restless and frantic. We even get tempted to take matters into our own hands, instead of allowing God to hold our hand and lead us on the right path.
We get overwhelmed and start focusing on all we don’t know; don’t have; don’t see; don’t feel; and don’t think we can ever attain.
What we should be doing is keeping our eyes on Jesus who knows all, sees all, and can work it all out.
I want to encourage you. No matter what you may be facing today, God has all you need. He has already made provision. Even if you cannot see the way clearly right now, don’t focus on that. Just keep your heart and mind focused on Jesus, “the author and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).
Today’s Prayer: Lord, sometimes I get so anxious when I’m trying to figure things out. But, please help me to rest and trust in You, knowing that You have already taken care of everything concerning me and my needs. And I thank You in advance for God-ordained moments that will be a blessing to me as I pursue my purpose and destiny. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
