All day long, since I woke up this morning, I’ve been dealing with a dull nagging headache and a twinge of discomfort in my throat. I also have a nice amount of work screaming out, “Finish me!” Well, a little while ago, someone got in touch with me just to let me know that I had impacted their life through my music and ministry. Although the light aching in my head and throat didn’t subside after getting that message, the reminder came at a perfect time.
It gave me the boost I need to press through my slightly-under-the-weather-day and carry out the assignments I have committed myself to completing. After all, someone needs to be encouraged. You know, after that person reached out to me, what they had to say made me think about the importance of using our lives… in good times and bad.
Everyday is an opportunity to use our lives.
We won’t always feel great when opportunities for ministry present themselves, but when we are able, we should do our best to bless someone else’s life. Of course there will be times when we cannot—I had one of those times earlier this year when I got really sick. Fever, chills, body aches, loss of strength, voice, and appetite. I was a mess! I couldn’t do anything but lie in bed and hope for the worst to pass.
I’m not talking about those times.
But there are other instances when we’ll experience only minor setbacks and not-so-great days. Yet, we don’t have to let these moments stop us from being a blessing.
Just think.
If we throw our hands up each time we deal with a less-than-perfect day our inconsistency will eventually nullify our effectiveness. That’s why we have to press forward. Whether up or down, on the mountaintop or in the valley, we can still be a blessing to others.
Today’s Prayer: Lord, please give me the strength and resolve to use my life everyday to impact someone else for the better. Thank You for every opportunity You give me to make a difference. Now I ask that You give me the grace to seize each moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time… may you be empowered to prosper!
