When I woke up this morning, instead of eating my traditional light breakfast, I tore into some leftover barbecue chicken and corn on the cob. That chicken was finger-licking good. And I smiled to myself as I happily let the juices from the sweet buttery corn run down the sides of my face.
You see, I was on a mission to make up for a missed opportunity.
Yesterday, around dinner time, I wasn't feeling too well; so I couldn't eat. I tried to lie down for a few minutes, but I couldn't sleep either. I just felt miserable. But when I woke up refreshed today, I didn't waste any time indulging in that feast for one.
And ooh, it was so good.
But not long after I ate it, my stomach didn't appreciate such heavy food that early in the AM. And uh, let's just say, I won't be doing that again.
Sure, the food was good, but I ate it at the wrong time, which is a mistake we've all likely made at one point in our lives. Sometimes, we get eager to get a taste of the "good life" and rush into things out of season. We take on things that are too "heavy" for us before we're actually ready.
So, before moving forward as I blogged about yesterday, just make sure the timing is right and that you can handle what you're taking on. Take a moment to ask "Is that too heavy? Am I'm doing too much?" And the only way to know, is to do what I always say. Seek God for guidance and direction before forging ahead.
He'll never steer you wrong.
It's so good to know that, when the Lord says go, that means He has already given us the ability to prosper in the place He's sending us to.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
