I got an email inviting me to an intense coaching session promising to show me (and whoever else was interested) how to become experts at personal branding and consequently, "explode" revenues.
The investment?
Only somewhere around, uh, 1200 bucks. Well, I know one easy way to help revenues that I'll give out to you for FREE. It's called the "Don't-give-all-your-money-away-to-other-people" Plan.
You know what I found interesting about this whole offer?
In the sales pitch, which I read through to the end, this individual admitted to gaining major clients without knowing what in the world they were doing. According to them, they had just become proficient at packaging themselves to look like an expert and convince others to pay them money.
After I finished the last sentence, I thought... and that's exactly what you're still trying to do.
Not gonna work on me. Sorry.
Daily Cup readers, sometimes I honestly feel like a voice crying in the wilderness telling people, "Don't do it! Don't get caught up!" But time after time, so many folks go running at breakneck speed to take advantage of special offers, promotions, trying to "cash in" on empty promises. And a lot of information folks are selling, is available at no cost.
Because of an eagerness to succeed and expand, people do everything except be still and talk to God about what they should be doing with their lives and how.
There's nothing wrong with learning new strategies from others. But, it is impossible to know your authentic purpose and how to bring that out, if you fail to consult with the One who created you.
Only God can show you your unique path in life. No one else can do that. And no amount of "branding," social media networking, or clever sales pitch writing is going to accomplish that for you.
If we all would learn to invest some time in going through some of God's coaching sessions more, we would be amazed at what He would teach us. And it wouldn't cost 1200 bucks either.
You can get that for FREE!
All it takes is a willingness to do what Mary did in Luke 10:38-42 and sit at Jesus' feet. So, be wise; be prayerful; and be still, so God can show you who you are.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
