I read a Robert Byrne quote yesterday that really grabbed my attention. It said, "The purpose of life, is a life of purpose." Isn't it good to know that even in such a vast universe, God has a specific assignment for your life?
I genuinely believe that your purpose matters most, but lately, I've been witnessing a disturbing trend.
I have been bombarded with emails and offers from Christians promoting tools to help others "become a superstar" and get wealthy in _____ steps. You fill in the blank. I have even come across a sales pitch from a single woman trying to offer advice to married couples.
Then, a few days ago, a Christian marketer said, "You're only as good as Google says you are," implying that search engine ranking somehow determines the social ranking of an individual. Instantly, I knew this person was attempting to grab folks' attention in the hopes that those individuals who are preoccupied with connections, public perception, and affiliations, would flock to buy whatever they were peddling that day. But those of us who are more concerned with divine purpose than popularity and other nonessential things, won't fall into this trap.
We won't join the ranks of many that have abandoned their pursuit of God's will in exchange for the pursuit of carnal things. Rather, we will remember that our purpose matters most.
If you're pleasing God and doing what He said do, don't worry about all that other stuff. It will only cause stress, anxiety, and unnecessary worry.
Instead of fixating on everything the world says you need to do, have, and be, place your time and effort into being who God wants you to be. When you do that, everything else will come. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33 KJV).
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
