Recently, a distraught husband asked the Daily Cup family
to join him in praying for his wife, Sandra, who had been struggling with infertility for eight years. His wife had slipped into depression over her inability to conceive and this put a strain on the relationship. I'll spare you all of the details and just tell you that God is so awesome! I am so, so excited to report that the two of them are expecting their first child; they just got the news last week and they're ecstatic! He wrote in his email:
"We just keep looking at the sonogram pictures in amazement. This is GOD'S doing!"
Wow...indeed, it is God's doing. Let's continue to remember this couple in prayer, that God would grant them a safe and healthy pregnancy. Today, please also join me in praying for the following people on our Thoughtful Thursdays list.
1. A woman is praying for her friend. I won't disclose either name due to the sensitive nature of the prayer request. This married friend has been caught up in an adulterous affair for more than a year and is considering abandoning her husband of nearly thirty years and three children to be with the other man. The woman requesting prayer on behalf of her friend is sad to see this person that was once loyal to her husband and devoted to God, turn away and get caught up in sexual sin. Today, we're praying for the Holy Spirit's conviction and deliverance for this woman.
2. Tammy Winston took her 12 year old son, Jonathan, to the doctor a few weeks ago because he was complaining of severe pain in his leg. The specialists ran tests and have discovered nothing, but the pain is so severe that Jonathan can't walk. Tammy is concerned about her son's health and is requesting that we pray that the doctors will discover what's ailing her Jonathan.
3. A single mom named Sandra is praying for favor as she starts her new job in two weeks after being unemployed for almost a year. The new position falls right in line with her field of work, but the pay scale is a lot less than she hoped it would be. Although Sandra is thankful that her long unemployment stint is over, she has two boys to care for and needs God to intervene in her finances. She's asking that the Lord would favor her and help her to "climb up the ladder" quickly.
4. A mother named Liz is worried about her teenage daughter, who has been acting out ever since Liz and her husband of 14 years split up due to his infidelity 6 months ago. The divorce seems to have taken a real toll on her young daughter. This16 year old girl, who is typically an honors student, is making C's and D's in school and she has run away from home twice already. We're praying with Liz today and requesting that God would heal her daughter's hurt and help the two of them reopen the lines of communication in their relationship; God is able to heal all wounds. We're also praying for Liz's strength as she deals with the personal pain brought on by the difficult split.
5. A woman named Janet is praying that God would bless her son, Paul, with a new job. He was just laid off 3 weeks ago and his wife is expecting a baby in 2 months. Let's all pray with this mother that God would rectify this situation for Paul and his wife, so they will have the means to care for their newborn and keep the family afloat.
Thanks so much for praying. If you need prayer, just click the "Thoughtful Thursdays" link to find out how to submit a request. I'm always honored to join you in prayer.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
