My schedule was thrown off all day yesterday. Somehow, I started out on the wrong foot. I fed the kids in the morning and forgot to eat. When lunchtime rolled around, I made their little sandwiches and snacks, got them situated, and stuffed a few pretzels in my mouth in between finishing up some projects. I couldn't figure out why I had the "hungry shakes" by late afternoon. Does that ever happen to you when you're starving?
Anyway, I ate a really late lunch.
Then, last evening, when time came to eat dinner, I was already full because I had eaten lunch so late. I ended up sitting around the table with the family watching my husband and the kids eat, laugh and chat.
At least I was able to join in on the laughter, silliness and fun conversation, but I didn't have any room to consume one single bite. After dinner was over, I still had plenty of work to do and ended up staying awake into the wee hours of the morning. By about 1:00 in the morning, I was starving from having missed supper.
So, I ended up scarfing down my dinner at a time when I should have been sleeping. My husband Kenya, who was also up right along with me, was cracking up, because I was eating that meal like it was my last time, ya hear? A sister was hungry!
As you can imagine, I'm feeling pretty tired this morning, because I was up too late. It's like a snowball effect, right?
You know, moments like this perfectly capture the validity of the saying, "Timing is everything!"
If we put things off for later, that we should be doing right now, we only make things harder on ourselves in the end. After all, those same things will pop back up, demanding to be done. That's why seizing the moment is important from both a practical and spiritual standpoint.
There are seasons when God tugs at us to move in a particular direction and pursue a specific course of action. And there's a reason why He commissions us to operate within a certain timetable. It's all a part of a larger plan that moves in stages and phases.
Moving in harmony with His timetable is crucial to the fulfillment of your life's destiny.
You see, God doesn't spring everything on us at one time. He guides us through different steps. But, it's important to take those steps when He's urging us to, so the process will flow seamlessly.
Today, I encourage you to carry out the assignment God has given you to do when the permission and opportunity is granted.
Don't put it off.
Remember, once again, timing is everything...especially when it comes to God's timing. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds of this biblical principle. The scripture says, "To everything there is a season, and a time to every
purpose under the heaven."
To honor God's timing, is to honor the purpose and destiny He has preordained for you.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
