As believers, it's no good to wear a cross on our chest and not believe in the power of the cross. When we pray for Daily Cup readers, we do it out of a sincere faith in God's power to bring healing, deliverance, and transformation to people's lives.
Please know, I appreciate how you faithfully join me each week in seeking God on behalf of our sisters (and on occasion, brothers) that need something special from the Lord. It's so wonderful to be able to come together from a distance and connect with one another through our belief in the unfailing power of God through Jesus Christ. Today, take a moment to join in me praying for the following individuals on our Thoughtful Thursdays list:
1. A woman named Annette Pierce has just been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer (Papillary Thyroid Microcarcinoma) and she's fearful that she will lose her life. Annette is a single mother of a five and three year old, and does not want to leave her children motherless. I want you to join me in praying for healing for this concerned mother. We know God is more than able to totally deliver Annette.
2. Bridgette Wilson is praying for peace of mind after her husband of 12 years filed for divorce. Bridgette, who has been unable to conceive, feels responsible for his desired departure, and can't seem to stop herself from sinking into depression. We are asking God to give Bridgette strength, peace, and comfort in this situation. We know that God can take away those feelings of guilt and regret, and restore wholeness to Bridgette's life.
3. A 24 year old woman named Jeanine has an ongoing struggle with low self-esteem and feelings of self-loathing. "I hate what I see when I look in the mirror," she wrote in an email. Although she wants to be free of her poor self-image, she doesn't know how to shake it. But we know that God is able to transform Bridgette's thinking and give her a new perception. Please pray with me that the Lord would heal what's inwardly broken, transform her mentality, and help Bridgette see herself as God sees her.
4. A woman who wishes to remain anonymous was recently offered a job at a relative's store. This woman has been laid off from her job for months and needs the money, but she knows that there are unethical and illegal practices going on at her family member's retail shop. According to her, she would feel like she was betraying her faith by taking the job, but she struggles with the decision, since her need for money is so dire. We're going to believe God to strengthen this woman, and help her realize that it's not worth gaining the world and losing her soul.
5. A woman named "Mrs. Mitchell" is requesting prayer for her unsaved husband. He is a non-violent alcoholic and he is slowly drinking himself to death. Her husband refuses to come to church with her and she desperately wants him to be saved. Let us all pray for Mrs. Mitchell and believe God to save her husband. We are petitioning the Lord to give this wife the wisdom and patience needed to be a shining example of righteousness for her unbelieving husband. We also pray for her husband, that he would let go of that vice and receive the gift of grace available to him through Christ.
Thank you for praying today. If you need prayer, please don't hesitate to ask. Just click the "Thoughtful Thursdays" tab above if you need more information.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
