There are many simple things in life I love... particularly the joy of children. Their curiosity and sense of wonderment about life is refreshing. So when I read over a prayer request that involved a child being hurt, my heart broke and I want you to earnestly go to God with me today. We'll get to that in a moment, but first there's something else I want to share with you.
A month ago, you joined me in praying for a frustrated inventor who was mishandled and taken advantage of by a company. As a result of their wrongdoing, she won a portion of the lawsuit filed against this company. Well, since we prayed together for her on March 11th, God favored her. Seleta emailed me and said, "I received a check in the mail from that lawsuit again from my project. I was not expecting that at all." How awesome is that? God is steadily sending provision into her life as she pursues her dreams once again. For that we give Him all praise and glory.
Today, we're putting Seleta right back on this list, because she's seeking a specific employment opportunity. A friend of hers has been putting her name out there, trying to help Seleta find work. Finally, the efforts have yielded some fruit and she's landed an interview. Please join me in praying for God's favor. We're believing Him to kick that door wide open for Seleta.
Wherever you are while reading this today, please take a few moments to join me in praying for the others on our Thoughtful Thursdays list today.
1. A woman whose husband is leaving: Today let's seek God on behalf of a woman who wishes to remain anonymous. Her husband of 18 years rocked her world by abruptly announcing that he would be moving out and starting divorce proceedings. Her heart is hurting and she doesn't know where to go from here. But God sees and knows all, and we're believing that God will grant her strength and comfort in the midst of this difficult season.
2. A woman with a brain tumor: A young woman named Tonya Pearson is requesting prayer on behalf of her 24 year old friend Janelle who was recently diagnosed with an inoperable benign
brain tumor. The pressure
on Janelle's brain has caused meningitis. Also, Janelle no longer has control over her emotions and suffers from severe mood swings. She lashes out and becomes enraged very easily, so Tonya is afraid of her and what she might do. Tonya's praying that God will heal Janelle and help her remain a friend in the midst of all the emotional turmoil. At this very moment, we're agreeing with Tonya for God's healing in Janelle's life. We're also believing for Tonya, that God would grant her the wisdom to handle this delicate situation the right way.
3. A woman struggling with her sexuality: A woman who wishes to remain anonymous is married with children, but is living a secret life. Her husband doesn't know she has been having relations with other women and cannot seem to break free. It is something she's struggled with since being repeatedly molested by women from an early age. Time after time she has gone for prayer, believed God for deliverance, only to see the cycle in her life continue. She stops for a while and then starts right back indulging in the sinful behavior again. "I know it's wrong and I know I need to stop," she says. We're praying that God will open her understanding, so she will see that He has already given her the power to resist the temptation and be free. Even though the temptation is there, she does not have to succumb. We're believing God for her to claim that deliverance and walk in it.
4. A young girl being molested: A woman who does not wish to reveal her identity, wrote in requesting prayer on behalf of her12 year old niece. The little girl is being raped by a distant cousin who moved in with her sister's family about a year ago. The transition came as a result of the boy's mother dying. This woman has attempted to tell her sister what's going on, but she refuses to believe it. Today, she's praying desperately for God to open her sister's eyes to what's happening, so this can be stopped. We're believing God right now to intervene in this situation and bring what's being done in the dark into the light. We're also covering that 12 year old girl at this very moment, that God would snatch her out of the hand of the enemy. We believe by faith that the last time was the last time, in Jesus' name!
I cannot thank you enough for taking time out to pray with me. God indeed hears and honors our prayers. If you have a prayer request or even a praise report since being listed for prayer, please email me at [email protected]. Click here for more details.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
