Hello again EEW ladies! There's lots going on in my world right now, but I won't bore you with the litany of things I could stand to vent about. Rather, I'll focus in on one issue in particular.
Well . . . I'm in the middle of major negotiations for a few upcoming projects. Anyway, one offer in particular, is very attractive. And I must admit, I'm enthusiastic about the prospects. However, I ran into a slight problem while fleshing out the details. I noticed a few things about the deal that were a little disarming. Now, obviously, I could've looked the other way. Especially in light of the fact that we're not talking about chump change here. But I elected to do something different.
I decided that I wouldn't overlook the details that were bothering me. Instead, I took a deep breath and stated in no uncertain terms that, some things would have to change before I moved forward. Admittedly, I was in a precarious position, and could in no way predict the other party's response. Yet, I held my ground and things still worked out in my favor.
Now, why am I telling you this? Here's why.
All too often, we don't assert ourselves. We compromise and concede so much that, we end up losing our identity in the process. We go along with situations that really don't make us happy, all because we're too afraid of the disapproval of others.
Are you this way? If so, I want to empower you to find your voice once again. Don't look for the affirmation and approval of others. Blaze a trail in your life and don't look back because at the end of the day, it's all about living a life of purpose, one that is pleasing to God and fulfilling for you.
I want you to know that, everyday presents new opportunities to make choices. What you do in those moments will determine the course of your life. Decide to be honest with yourself and others about what you're feeling. Otherwise, you'll give a little more of yourself away . . . and a little more . . . and a little more. Until you're left feeling used, unfulfilled and uninspired.
It's better to deal with the temporary discomfort of going against the grain, than the permanent pain of going along to get along. Well, that's all for now.
If you happen to be in the middle of a tough decision and you need prayer, please feel free to email me. I'd be glad to stand in faith with you.
Until next time . . . May you be empowered to prosper!
