Ever received one of those phone calls that just makes your jaw drop? Well, I had a conversation like that yesterday with someone close to me about some difficult and personal situations going on. When I tell you I hung up with an even greater commitment to prayer and steadfastness in the work of the Lord, I mean it!
Listen; things are happening in this world everyday... tragic, traumatic and in many cases, seemingly unthinkable things. We've got to begin to plug into the needs of others. It's time to gird up and become real ambassadors for the Kingdom. Now, more than ever, we must assume a daily prayer posture.
As for me, I'm asking that God will continue to send women who are vigilant in prayer, who will earnestly intercede on behalf of this blog ministry, as well as, the lives being touched by it.
This week, we're seeking God for the following individuals:
1. A mother is requesting prayer for her daughter who, after the sudden death of her father, has seemingly lost her way and turned to promiscuity. Pain is a powerful thing and this girl, who was an active member in church and an exceptional student, before the tragic loss, has turned into an angry, rebellious and bitter child. We're praying that God will help this young woman cope with her grief in ways that won't sabotage her life and her walk with God.
2. A woman named Debra needs prayer for her family. One of her children is devastated after being kind to an employee who ended up taking advantage of him. Now, in these rough economic times, he is owed over $4000 from this person and has been left reeling. Also, another one of Debra's children is currently on probation and can't find a job. She's requesting prayer that God will grant each one what they need to regain stability in their lives and surrender completely to the Father.
3. A woman named Nicole was just diagnosed with Breast Cancer. After losing her mother to this same disease two years ago, she's been plagued with fear and anxiety. We're praying that God would give her the faith to trust Him, and give Nicole peace as she enters into treatment.
4. We're also standing in faith with a woman named Niyonu, who is going through a trying time on her job. After being with the same company for 7 years, she's been experiencing some very serious issues with senior management, which she has addressed with Human Resources on numerous occasions. But, there's been no change. Niyonu believes her season is over and God is leading her to begin seeking other employment. Let us all pray for divine direction and favor on her search, and that God will, according to His divine will, open awesome doors of opportunity.
5. We're also joining in prayer with a young woman named Alesha who is struggling with the guilt of abortion. When she was single, she aborted two children and now, she and her husband can't seem to get pregnant. In her mind, she believes that God is punishing her for past choices. Right now, we're praying that God would release Alesha from that guilt and shame and let her know that He is both a loving and merciful God.
I thank you in advance for joining with me in prayer, for we know that God is able to do all things. If you have a prayer request, please submit it to dailycup@eewmagazine.com.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
