Last evening, I was doing some research for an upcoming interview. The advice this person was sharing in one of their articles and previous interviews, seemed very sound and on point. After being so impacted by their point of view, I found myself reevaluating a particular course of action I've been considering. I had felt quite certain about what I would do; that is, until I was introduced to this new information.
But, before I was able to seriously ponder changing my mind, I got what some folks call "a check in my Spirit." In other words, I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me and the question came rushing to me as clear as day...
"What did GOD tell you?"
It hit me like a ton of bricks too and I immediately felt convicted, because I found myself waffling back and forth on something I knew God had spoken to me.
Thankfully, my momentary lapse ended just as quickly as it began once the Lord put me in remembrance of the word He had spoken to me. Sometimes, we just need to be reminded of what God said. No matter what we see, hear, or feel that contradicts God's promises, we have to believe Him above all others.
Now, does that mean we should never take sound advice and always refuse opinions that differ from our own? Absolutely not, otherwise we would be setting ourselves up for a life of chaos and no productivity. The Bible says, "Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory" (Proverbs 11:14 NAS).
So, good advice has its place... as long as it doesn't take the place of the word of the one who rules us all. Today, I encourage you to hold onto whatever the Lord has spoken over your life. No matter what it looks like; if God said it, you can count on it.
He will do just what He said.
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
