The technological advancements in our world make so many things more accessible at lightning fast pace. We've got instant messaging and special applications for our smart phones, high speed internet, instant downloads, and so much more. As such, it's easy to get caught up in that, "I want it right now" mentality. After all, so many things seem to come to us right away, giving us immediate gratification.
But it doesn't work that way when it comes to seasons of hardship and struggle. Those trying times seem to take their sweet little time going away, right? If you've ever been stuck in a frustrating predicament that you desperately wanted deliverance from, you know how difficult it can be while you're anticipating your day of liberation. During your time of testing and adversity, you can easily become discouraged and begin feeling like God has forgotten about you.
As you walk through the storm, in your heart you wonder, "Lord, how long?"
How long must I wait for deliverance and breakthrough? How long will this storm last? How long will I have to confront this issue that I so desperately need to be resolved? How long will I be groping for answers and feeling aimless?
Well, none of us knows how long trouble will last, but we do know that "trouble don't last always." Even if we can't clearly see our way, deep down inside we can still grab hold to the word to remind us that, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" (Psalm 30:5b KJV). I know how difficult it can be when you're going through a wilderness experience. The intensity of the trial and the weight of the burden can wear you down.
But you have to remember that God is your refuge and strength. He is the hope of your salvation. He is your shield and the lifter up of your head. Although it's natural to wonder how long an unpleasant situation will remain in our lives, we must not become impatient, frustrated, or doubtful about the faithfulness of God based on our circumstances.
Today, I've come to let you know that, no matter what you're going through and despite how difficult it seems, God will work it out. Now, the solution may not come according to your ideal timetable and things may not happen the way you want them to, but rest assured that God will complete the work in your life. Everything He's said about you will come to pass. Every promise He's ever made will be fulfilled, as long as you remain steadfast in His will. "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6).
It's all gonna work out soon. Just you wait and see.
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
