It's that time again for Thoughtful Thursdays, when we consider the needs of others above our own, by going to God on their behalf. When I was growing up, my family would go across this country with my Dad, who was a traveling Evangelist. I remember seeing the awesome works of God, as miracles would be performed from city to city, and state to state. That's why I believe, without a shadow of doubt, in the power of prayer. I've witnessed the miraculous firsthand, so I'm confident that, when saints get on one accord, touching and agreeing, something shifts in the atmosphere. The power of God goes forth and meets needs, touches lives, heals sick bodies, saves the lost, and sets the captives free.
Whether it's physical, mental, or emotional hurt that needs to be healed, I've seen the hand of God at work enough to know that, there's no problem too hard for God to solve. I don't know how you feel about it, but I believe in the wonder-working power of prayer. No matter how big or small the situation is, God sees and He cares.
So, let's tap into prayer power today.
As always, I invite you to reach out if you need prayer. Whether you want to be listed in the "Thoughtful Thursdays" posts, or you simply want to be covered in my private prayer time, send me an email to dailycup@eewmagazine.com and share your needs.
This week, please join me in praying for:
1. The Reese Family of Buffalo, NY. They need our prayers as they mourn the loss of Evangelist Essie Reese (If you know the family, you can share kind words and condolences at the following link: http://www.legacy.com/gb2/default.aspx?bookID=700211402455&page=1). She slipped away to be with the Lord on August 19th. I knew and loved Evangelist Reese--a long-time friend of my family. My heart goes out to the family.
2. Send prayers up for a reader named Carmin who recently lost her mother to liver cancer and needs the strength to move forward. Pray that God will give her peace and re-ignite the dreams and visions He's planted in her heart before the devastating loss.
3. A reader named Lori has been struggling for a year with severe back pain. She's had MRI's and blood work done and the doctors are saying it's a muscular issue, so Lori is going to a different doctor who's about to try a new procedure that she's praying will be effective. Let's pray with her!
4. Please pray for a reader named Stephanie who, after feeling called by God to pursue a particular course, has had no success or movement in that area; which has left her feeling lost, dejected and aimless in regards to her purpose. If you know what it's like to be in a dry place, where you can't see your way clearly, send up a prayer for Stephanie that God would give her a breakthrough in her life!
Let's pray together now: Father, we come to you humbly, thanking you for another opportunity to approach your throne to make our requests known to you. We pray now God, for every life that is represented in this blog post and even for the ones not named or mentioned here, we ask that you will stretch forth your hand of healing, deliverance, and restoration. Minister to the needs of every individual, so that they might know you are indeed a prayer answering savior. And for everyone seeking you right now on behalf of someone else, I pray a special blessing upon them, that you would meet their needs and give them the desires of their heart according to your will. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
Thank you, once again, for being thoughtful enough to place someone else's needs above your own.
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
