I want to begin with this thought today: In order for you to walk in all the authority God has given you and maximize your potential, you have to begin seeing yourself the way He sees you.
Why?
Well, because it's impossible to be a conqueror with a defeatist mindset. As I often say, your reality can never exceed the level of your mentality. Always remember that.
That's why, during some seasons, God stretches us and allows us to go through uncomfortable situations, so that we can begin to see our true abilities. You see, our resilience, tenacity, inner-fortitude, gumption, and boldness comes out when we're pressed beyond what we believe is our breaking point. It is not until we move beyond the realm of our comfort zone, that we are capable of seeing who we really are.
I remember when I was pregnant with my oldest son, Kedar. I experienced so much pain while carrying him, because he was a big baby. The doctors told me that my body was having difficulty holding up under such a heavy load. In fact, Kedar dislocated my pelvis and I had to go through weeks and weeks of therapy after giving birth to an 8lb. 7oz. baby giant boy.
But guess what? Although he stretched me and it was painful, I really got a chance to see my strength. There were some days when I wasn't sure I could make it through, but I did.
I wonder; can you identify with that in your own life? Are you being pushed and tested? If so, don't fret. Don't worry. Just embrace the commission and the mission God has given you, knowing that He is with you.
Whenever you're feeling squeezed, remind yourself that, God is just challenging your perspective, that's all. He wants you to know what you're capable of. He doesn't want you to simply quote Phillipians 4:13, that says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," but God wants you to believe it and live it out!
As you may have heard before, there's no way you'll ever know what's inside until you go through circumstances that squeeze you and force you to release the strength, courage, gifts, and talents that may be lying dormant in you. Pressure has a way of bringing out what's locked up inside. It causes us to do one of two things:
- Retreat and run for cover.
- Use the pressure to propel us forward.
I pray you'll choose the latter, because God wants to do great things in and through you. He wants to do "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." (See Ephesians 3:20) You no doubt possess the power, but the question is, can you see that?
Can you perceive it?
Do you genuinely recognize and believe that there is a great treasure inside of you that's waiting to be released to the world? Do you understand that there's a divine destiny that awaits you? Have you grasped the reality that you're not wandering aimlessly and simply going through the motions in life, but that, you are on a path laid out and predestined by God?
Listen; whatever discomfort you may be facing in your life today, if you trust God through it, He'll continue challenging your perspective, shifting your paradigm, and showing you what you're really made of!
I know He has great things in store for you.
Do you know it?
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
