I'm feeling a bit under the weather today... just sort of blah. I was trying to work on a couple of projects, but I couldn't quite muster the strength. So, instead of putting on my Superwoman cape, I've decided to figure out which things are most important to me and stick to those.
Everything else will just have to wait for a better day.
As you can see, blogging just so happens to be on the "important list". I've told you countless times before that I don't blog just to blog. It's a ministry for me. I carry that burden in my heart to push you to be all God has called you to be, so you can walk out your life's purpose and reach souls for the Kingdom.
Out of our burden, our ministry is birthed. Always remember that. The kind of burden of which I speak is not one that represses, depresses, or suppresses us. Rather, it progresses our vision, moving us forward along the path God has laid out for us.
Our burden fuels the fire of our divine passions, causing us to walk in the authority God has given us as change agents for His glory.
I wonder; what's your burden?
Well, yesterday one of the loyal blog readers, Keisha, left a great comment about her personal burden. She was just genuinely sharing what was in her heart and it really struck a chord with me. Here's what Keisha said:
I'm sitting here in my office, which is located in the heart of the parade route, listening to thousands of people screaming, yelling and chasing after floats trying to fill their bags with moonpies, beads, candy and other goodies and I must admit that my spirit is a bit disturbed.
It saddens me to see so many people flocking to temporary fulfillment when 90% of them won't even flock to God who can give everlasting fulfillment. I'm not judging anyone who chooses to participate in Mardi Gras...my only gripe is seeing so many lost souls thirsting after the things of the world and failing to see just how good God is and what he can be in their lives.
Sometimes it appears that worldly customs have overshadowed God...it saddens me to see how God is so minute in the lives of so many people when he is the very essence of our existence. I just wish that all would see just how great our God is."
That "sadness" that Keisha is describing is really her "burden" for the lost--one we should all carry in our hearts. For it is not until we are affected by the sad plight of the world, that we will do anything to effect change in it. Remember, the problem that most troubles you is often the one you're called to solve.
Every believer is the solution to the sin problem in this world. We're salt and light, commissioned by God to bring in a harvest of souls.
May God infuse your heart with His passions and His burden;
And may that burden for the things of God in turn drive, push, motivate, and compel you to be all God has purposed and designed you to be before the foundation of the world.
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
