I have seven brothers and six sisters. Nope, that's not a typo. Throw me in and you get fourteen of us all total. Yep, fourteen. I guess that's why my four kids don't seem like all that many. Of course, from the looks on other people's faces when I tell them I have four... that's still a big number to plenty of folks.
But the way I see it, I have ten less than my mom and dad have! That's one way to keep things in perspective, right?
Well, I remember back home when my mother would call out for us to come and do something for her. She would get all confused and flustered, and end up calling us all by about five different siblings' names before she finally got it right.
It was pretty funny and she still does it to this day. She even mixes up my kids' names. I'm like, C'mon mom, it's only four.
Hilarious.
Well, back then when she'd call out to us, as you might imagine, sometimes we didn't know who in the world she wanted!
She would call out, "Dianna!"
So, of course I'd come rushing into the room only to be told, "No, uh, I mean uh, Shante... uh, Shavette... uh, Alesha...uh..."
Then after going through nearly every name of every child in the house, she'd figure it out. After a while, we all got used to it.
Unlike my mother, however, God never gets confused about who He's called.
He doesn't get it mixed up or twisted, even though we feel like He might've from time to time, particularly when we don't believe we're at all prepared or equipped for what He's asking us to do. Nevertheless, we must remind ourselves that God never makes a mistake in choosing.
Never.
No matter how inadequate you feel, if God called you, He'll get you ready. Don't worry about all you don't currently possess, because He'll get you in shape to complete your assignment. As long as you don't run away in dismay, confusion or fear, He'll place all you need to succeed in your life.
God will send all kinds of favor your way. I know He will. He's done it for me over and over again... He's still doing it.
Just know, He chose you for your specific qualities and characteristics. It's Y.O.U. that God is after.
Y.O.U. stands for Your own uniqueness.
There's something that sets you apart from all others. God's after Y.O.U.
That's why you have to do what I talked to you about yesterday and begin seeing your worth and value. Open your eyes and recognize that there's something special, not just inside of others, but inside of you also. Greatness lives in you.
God's calling you right now to rise up and walk in the authority He's vested in you. What's your answer? Prayerfully it's a short answer--two words to be exact... YES LORD.
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
