In the world we're taught to be independent, but in the Kingdom dependency is the key. We're instructed to cast our cares upon the Lord (1 Peter 5:7) and trust Him to be our strength and sustainer.
You see, in order to be dependent on God, you first have to recognize your limitations and admit that you don't have what it takes to do all God requires of you. None of us can claim to have that down pat!
If we did, what would we need Jesus for? What would we need the power of the Holy Spirit for?
I often say, we have to learn how to retire our capes and say, "Lord, I need your help."
This year is going to be a year of great transition for many of us, and the only way we'll make it to the place God has predestined for us to end up, is if we give up control. We have to see our own inadequacies not as failures, but as opportunities for God to show Himself strong in our lives.
God wants you and me to know, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness..." (2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV) Once we recognize that we can do nothing without Him, we then properly position ourselves to allow God to come to our rescue and our defense. He wants to be our strong tower. He wants to carry our burdens for us.
But God can't alleviate the load we carry unless we're willing to give it over to Him. Isn't it about time you took a load off and began relying on His strength?
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
