I had a spontaneous praise break in the kitchen all by myself yesterday. I was making lunch and got caught up thinking about the goodness of the Lord. Has that ever happened to you? Have you ever had one of those unplanned, unexpected moments when you got lost in thoughts of all the ways God has made for you?
Maybe it's just me.
Sometimes, I think we focus too much on the negative aspects of life and not enough on all that could have and should have gone wrong, but didn't. I mean, think about it. No matter what might be out of whack in your life right now, there are some things that could be MUCH worse. Just for a few minutes, allow your mind to wander back to a time when things looked like they were going to fall apart... oh but God.
I wonder if you've got a "But God" praise down in your soul.
Perhaps you didn't have what you needed to make things come together... but God. Maybe some important bills were due and you didn't know where the money was coming from... but God. You might have made some mistakes you SHOULD have paid for... but God.
When you've sho' nuff been through some things, your soul ought to get stirred up when you begin looking retrospectively. I'm reminded of the saying: "The more I think... the more I thank."
Today, I want you to take your eyes off of all that's out of order and let your mind go back to a time when you didn't know how you were going to make it through and God stepped in and made everything alright just in the nick of time.
Maybe you, like me, will have a spontaneous praise break of your very own.
You might not be in the kitchen like I was, but maybe you'll be driving along in your car; on your lunch break at work; in your bedroom spending some quality time alone with God. Who knows?
It doesn't matter where you are; all that matters is knowing where you've been... and where God has brought you from.
Go ahead and say it. "When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He's done for me; my soul cries out Hallelujah! I thank God for saving me." Hey, you don't have to praise Him. I'll praise 'em all by myself...
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
