Some were, but many weren't.
For those who weren't, after they ran into a few hindrances and saw that they were not accomplishing things as efficiently as they had hoped they would, these same "eager" folks threw their hands up and quit mid-project.
In much the same way, in our walk with the Lord, some of us can be like week-end warriors. We take on the assignment God has given to us with eagerness and dedication... at first. Then, as time goes on, the excitement wanes. The adrenaline wears off...and we come crashing back down to earth. Suddenly, we feel the frustration of handling each new challenge. The thing that we once did with joy, begins to feel like torturous punishment. We think to ourselves, "I didn't know it would be so hard.... I don't know if I can make it through." But you know what? Just because the situation you're facing on the way to the fulfillment of your destiny seems hard, that's no cause for giving up on pursuing your divine purpose.
What you're going through right now is molding you for your purpose. God is shaping you and refining you as a vessel of honor.
God knows right where you are. He's not going to put anymore on you than you can bear. But if you quit, you'll never see the conclusion of the matter. You'll never get to experience the awesome blessings God has prepared for you.
Not only that, but you also have to remember that you're not only living for YOU, but someone else needs what's in you. I tell you that all the time. God has entrusted something to you that He wants to use to bring glory to Him and draw others to the Kingdom. So you've got to condition your mind to stay in this thing for the long haul...through thick and thin; joy and sorrow; sunshine and rain. Whatever you've got to go through, don't lose your dedication to the cause of Christ.
Don't be just a week-end warrior. Be diligent. Be strong. Be steadfast... and watch how things will shape up. Please know, God is on your side... be sure to stay on His.
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
