Hurt. Sad. Depressed. Dejected. That's how you often feel during those seasons in your life when you work fervently to make things come together; yet, despite how hard you try, things just don't pan out. You end up battling intense frustration, discouragement, and despondency because both your heart and your dreams are broken.
It's hard. I know. I've been there.
But here's what I want you to see; some things don't work initially because they are for another time and place. God has an alternate plan.
And just because it didn't work out today, doesn't mean it never will. Just because the thing God showed you didn't manifest when you wanted it to, doesn't mean it's over. It's for a set time, that's all.
So don't get down in the dumps when your life takes a turn for what seems to be the worst. Know that the purpose of God will be accomplished in due season. In the meantime, remain optimistic and full of thanksgiving, for God has not forgotten you.
Think about how Joseph must've felt when he was thrown in a pit by his own brothers even after God gave him all those dreams of being a ruler over them. When he was sold into slavery and later thrown in jail, what must Joseph have been thinking?! I can imagine him saying, "God, this isn't what you showed me. I thought you told me I would be a powerful leader... so how come everything in my world is upside down?"
We know that eventually the plan of God came full circle in Joseph's life... but it took some time. It didn't happen overnight. He had to go through some stuff. (See Genesis 37-50)
But aren't you glad that no matter what goes wrong, the word of God still stands? Oh bless His name. The Bible says it this way, "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever" (Isaiah 40:8 KJV). I don't care what comes or goes, whatever God has spoken over your life will surely--not maybe--surely come to pass.
Without a doubt His word and His will concerning you WILL BE DONE.
Just as I told you in an earlier post, don't look at your right now. Don't get stuck on that. If you do, you'll miss what God is trying to do for and through you. Rather, keep your eyes firmly fixed upon Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Even though you might have to wait a while before God reveals the resolution to the issue you're currently facing, know that the solution will come.
It will ultimately work out for your good. All you have to do is keep walking by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) Recognize that although it might not be easy to stand, you have the power to withstand the test. God has invested so much in you--far too much for you to give up.
Know that if things aren't snapping into place as quickly as you want, again, it may be because what God has shown you is for another time and place. Just keep traveling along the path He's laid out and soon enough, you'll arrive at just the right place at precisely the right time.
Then you'll look back on all of this and say, "I'm still standing... I made it!"
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
