One of my close relatives is studying to become a doctor; after deciding to take some summer courses to expedite the road to graduation, she faced some pretty intense challenges. The course material was very difficult and condensed. Some days, she didn't know whether she was coming or going. This caused her to worry about whether she really had what it took to perform impressively.
Well, after finals, even before getting her grades back, she worried herself sick. She didn't know if she had done as well as she had hoped. She began focusing on all of the possible "worst case scenarios" and negative contingencies.
Bet you can relate to that right?
Well, when it was all said and done, things worked out just fine. All of her anxiety and worry was for naught. When I spoke to her today, she sounded so much better, and I told her, "See... you got yourself all worked up for nothing. I knew things would work out all right."
And I really did know that, because she's very intelligent and capable. She just has a difficult time seeing it sometimes. What about you? What has you feeling frenzied and worked up? What are you concerned about? What situation do you need rectified in your life, that you're afraid might not be?
Well, whatever it is, I want you to stop worrying about it. After all, worrying won't change a thing. Even the Bible tells us that. (See Matthew 6:25-34) Instead of being paranoid and frantic, remind yourself that the Lord is with you. His favor rests upon you. His promises have already been spoken over your life. And His word won't return to Him void.
It's going to be all right. I know it might not seem like it sometimes. Your situation may seem particularly bleak. You may be dealing with some extenuating circumstances that are really trying your faith. You might be facing some stuff that you think is impossible to fix.
But God is greater than that situation, and what's more, He's already made a way. Your victory has been destined and your future has been mapped out. Choose to believe that your best days are ahead of you and your worst days behind you. I wish you could grab hold of that today.
You're worrying for nothing.
You see, you've got to re-condition your mind and stop allowing past hurts, disappointments, and failures to dictate your expectations. Expect the hand of God to deliver you; don't expect defeat and failure. No. Open your eyes and see what God is doing in your life. Let go of the past and embrace your future.
You have no reason to fear.
Only believe.
When you begin worrying and feeling afraid, recall the word God gave to Joshua and make it your own: "Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9 AKJV).
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
