As you go through life, it's easy to feel insignificant...particularly when you perform a bunch of "thankless" jobs. If you're a mom, outside of special occasions, your children probably don't think to say "thanks" for all the numerous sacrifices you make to ensure their happiness. If you're an employee, your boss may not pat you on the back consistently for the efforts you put forth to contribute to your company's stability, growth, and development. And if you're an entrepreneur performing most of the day-to-day, technical functions on your own, no one's beating down your door to say how awesome a job you're doing.
Nevertheless, you are significant. In fact, you're a world changer. And if you stop making your contribution in this world by forfeiting your calling, someone who needs what only you have to offer will go lacking. I want you to think long and hard about that, because it's easy to underestimate your own worth and value. Sadly, many people--even those who know and love God-- have bought into the notion that they don't truly matter and they're not powerful or influential enough to make an impact. But nothing could be more wrong.
Whatever you're doing in your little corner of the world is indeed making a difference. Somebody needs to see your light shining on a daily basis. Someone needs that encouraging word you have to give. Someone is hungry for the bread of life, and thirsty for the living water you have already partaken of.
Don't stop working toward the fulfillment of your divine destiny. Remember, you're chosen. You've been selected by God to make an indelible imprint on the hearts and minds of those who need help. But in order to complete the task God has assigned specifically to you, you must be willing to press on through difficult seasons; keep trusting even when you have what appear to be justifiable reasons to doubt; and keep believing that you are here for a specific purpose... even if it's unclear right now.
Always, always keep a positive outlook. Wherever God has you right now, don't complain. Instead, choose to plant the seeds of diligence, perseverance, and faith, that will spring up and produce a mighty harvest in God's own time. In the meantime, be consistent, persistent, optimistic, full of joy, pleasant, kind-hearted, patient, forgiving, longsuffering, and merciful.
Continue doing all you can to live the kind of life that will make someone who doesn't know Jesus say, "I want what they have." No matter what your station in life may be, you're a change agent.
Never forget that.
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
