In a world where everything seems relative, God is looking for someone to stand for something... particularly focusing on His will and way. Sadly, many of us have been sucked into a watered down gospel that says in a roundabout way that just about anything goes.
But not so.
I told you a couple of months ago that God is seeking out folks who will stand up for Him in the face of compromise and depravity. Are you that one? Prayerfully you are, because God can only use those of us who are willing to be salt and light in this wicked world.
Often, I write posts to motivate and inspire you to believe God for the fulfillment of your destiny, while always striving for the best. While those things are essential to your walk of faith, they are null and void unless your life exemplifies Kingdom principles. That's the only way God can use you... if you're walking in such a way that brings glory to His name. It's our job to be a light and an example. But if we begin backing away from our convictions merely because our stance is unpopular with the majority, then we can't help anybody else find Christ.
I know this kind of "preaching" isn't always popular, but it's so needful. The Bible says, "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:13-14 NKJV).
You see, God desires for you and me to affect and infect others with His ways and His laws. He never intended for us to be sucked into a secular mentality, embracing any and everything presented to us through the world's system. No, in fact, in the Old Testament, God commanded the Children of Israel to remain separated from nations who worshiped false gods. This was done so that they would not adopt wrong beliefs and ideals through their association with misguided people.
If God had a standard back then, has he lowered it simply to accommodate a changing culture? Has He modified His expectations to suit the preferences of more "liberal" and "eccentric" individuals? Has He changed His mind about holiness and righteousness?
Absolutely not.
So, neither should we.
Listen, I believe that God is raising up a remnant of people who will adhere to, exemplify, and share His righteous principles. Everybody isn't succumbing to the negative influences of an unhealthy, yet pervasive mentality that espouses the belief that the grace of God exempts us from accountability for our actions.
Romans 6:1-2 says it like this: "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?" (NKJV)
Hmmm...I don't know about you, but I'm striving everyday to be more like Jesus. I want someone to see the love and life of Jesus flowing through me to them and the world at large.
My prayer for you today is that God will give you the strength and courage you need to sustain you. May His grace be with you as you do all you can to hold on to your convictions, even when others around you are yielding to sinful desires that run contrary to the will and heart of God. May you tap into the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in you, to give you the assistance and resolve you need to make a difference for God.
As always, thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
