Before our circumstances can change, our paradigms must change. The sooner we get that, the better off we'll be. Often, we wrongly assume that God will swoop in and rescue us from every situation that proves to be unpleasant and difficult. But He doesn't work that way. I told you in a previous post that the Lord is the consummate teacher; through our tests and trials He helps modify our perspective, and presents us with a different view of life.
I know how easy it is to become jaded when you're in the middle of an intense battle. Many times, all you can think about is when the struggle will end. But I want you to think differently about what you're currently experiencing.
Ask yourself, "What could God be trying to show me? What am I to learn from all of this? Why do I keep ending up in this same place over and over again? What important lessons should I be gathering?"
If you never step back to examine your battle from a new perspective, you'll always get stuck hanging out at your own pity party. You'll never acquire the requisite knowledge and wisdom to get out of the rut you've been in for years.
Today, God is giving you a wake up call. He's shaking you out of your comfort zone... or should I say discomfort zone? After all, there's no way you can be fully satisfied and gratified when you're settling for less than God has for you. Until you understand and apply the lessons derived from the storm, there will remain a gaping hole in your soul.
Listen. God in no way desires for you to be unhappy or unfulfilled. On the contrary, He wants you to live an abundant life filled with joy, peace, and prosperity. Jesus said, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly" (John 10:10 NKJV).
With that in mind, I want you to take a moment to talk to the Lord today. Sincerely ask Him what He wants you to learn during this season of your life. Petition Him to give you a new perspective and renew your thinking. If you seek Him, you'll find Him. And I know beyond a shadow of doubt, He will give you the answers you need.
"Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near" (Isaiah 55:6 NIV).
Thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
