Stop whatever you're doing... at least for a few minutes and think about something. When was the last time you lived for the moment, without regard for tomorrow, and thanked God for His rich blessings in your life? When was the last time you let your victories overshadow your failures, and gave yourself a pass even if things were imperfect?
Are you thinking about it?
So... how long has it been?
I ask this because it's so easy to glorify our weaknesses, without seeing our strengths. Too often we magnify our flaws above our praiseworthy qualities. Why do we do this?
Quite often, we are our own worst critics... we diminish ourselves with our thoughts, words, and actions. Unfortunately, these self-deprecating behaviors cause us to feel insecure and unhappy... even when we should feel validated and comfortable in our skin.
Whether your issues lie with your body image, your financial state, your business crises, or your career woes... one thing's for sure, you're still blessed. And even if everything isn't just as you would like for it to be, still, praise God for what is going well.
Give Him thanks for His manifold blessings, instead of complaining about the things that are out of whack. Because at the end of the day, nobody has it all together... none of us has all the answers. Each of us struggles in some area.
Nevertheless, we owe it to God and ourselves to reflect on the positive things that have happened... are happening... and will happen in the future. And when you do this, you'll find that your attitude will shift from fretfulness to thankfulness.
Before I go, I'll ask again. When was the last time you celebrated where you currently are with no regard for what's not working in your life?
If you can't remember, that's okay. That time can begin right now.
Thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
