Take a risk. Take a chance. Make a change. Think outside the box. Be a go-getter. Don't talk about it, be about it. Just do it... you know all of the clichés and slogans we use to motivate ourselves and others. But are they only clichés? Are we just spewing out catchy phrases, with no real intention of acting upon them?
Have we unknowingly become addicted to inspiration but resistant to action? Do we need to be constantly coddled, cajoled, and coaxed, rather than taking responsibility for what God has placed in us? Change requires that we first commit to something and then follow through on it.
We can't waffle back and forth on our decisions, depending upon which way the wind blows that day. Instead we must be focused and tenacious, and resolved that nothing and no one will hinder us from receiving all God has for us.
My prayer is that you will not only be inspired, because inspiration does not guarantee corresponding action... think about that.
I can remember feeling motivated, excited, and fired up many times in my life, but along the way I still failed to take the necessary measures to do what God was calling me to do.
You see, there's a difference between feeling encouraged and being courageous enough to make a move.
Whenever you feel motivated, don't just bask in the afterglow of whatever it is that incited that feeling... whether it was a powerful sermon you heard, or an inspirational book you curled up with, or an encouraging blog post you read. Instead of being a perpetual receptacle, storing up powerful affirmations that have the potential to change your life; become action-oriented, and utilize the inspiration as fuel to assist you in achieving your desired outcome.
Let the encouraging words you read and hear get down in your spirit and push you. On those days when you're feeling weak, insecure, and afraid, take the positive seeds that are being sown in you right now, and water them with work, perseverance, and determination.
Then, and only then, will you see the manifestation of fruit in your life.
Listen, God wants you to be prosperous. He wants you to bear fruit. It is His desire to bless you. It pleases Him to open doors for you and make ways when it seems impossible. But before He can make a move on your behalf, you must first take a step toward the realization of your God-given dreams.
It is your faith, coupled with your action, that produces the harvest. So get to work... and when you do, that's when you'll see God work. But you have to make the first move...
So... why are you still sitting at the green light? If God has granted you permission to go forth, then put your foot on the gas and drive. You've got plenty of inspiration in your tank... drive. You've got more than enough fuel for your journey... drive.
God has something awesome waiting on the other side... but you've got to get moving. Don't be afraid; He's with you.
Thanks for reading, and until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
