At the time, I couldn't appreciate how much Mom was helping me. I couldn't see how those lessons would come in handy down the road. You see, I didn't know that I would grow up to be an entrepreneur. I didn't anticipate that I'd regularly do business with men and women of wealth and influence... let alone become one of them! The notion that I would be in a position that would require me to use the wisdom Mom shared, never even crossed my mind.
So, when she told me things like: "Stand with your shoulders erect, don't slouch, fix yourself up...," as you might imagine, I was quite annoyed.
Have you ever considered how much time and attention God invests in you? Do you appreciate the profound lessons He shares with you from day to day? Can you see His hand on your life? Do you recognize that His instructions, no matter how inconvenient or off-putting, are grooming you for where you're going?
Listen. Before you fully enter into any season of release, God teaches you valuable lessons about how to conduct yourself once you get to your place of promise. He gives you insight into the pervasive ideas, moral values, as well as the mentality of those He connects you with. This is done to ensure that you're equipped to maximize the doors you're destined to walk through.
As you prepare your heart and mind for this new level of breakthrough in your life, be sure to hear the voice of God. Don't merely shrug off His urgings, warnings, and advice. Take heed to His words. If you do, they will lead you to a life of health, happiness, and wholeness in Him.
God has so much to give. Are you ready to receive?
