As you move toward something better you inevitably have to leave something behind. The sun is about to shine brightly on your situation, but you have to be aware that, your purpose is going to cost you something.
In this season of release, not only is God releasing blessings TO us... He's also releasing some people FROM us. While you're saying "hello" to greater blessings, you're going to be saying "goodbye" to old hindrances.
Are you ready for the change that's about to take place? Are you really ready for the hello AND the goodbye?
It reminds me of a comment that K. Hardaway recently made on my blog... there are some negative people crowding your space. But God wants to set you free.
Do you realize that some individuals you have grown close to never meant you any good in the first place? You may have assumed that they were on your side, but they never were. Interestingly, our blindness to the truth causes us to buy into their facade of camaraderie and devotion. However, their hearts were never truly knit with ours.
It makes me think about TD Jakes who says, "I believe God has given me the gift of goodbye." Essentially, Bishop Jakes makes the point that, over time, he has learned to let people walk away, without allowing their departure to destroy him.
We have to adopt a similar mentality that says, "If they choose to cut me off, then I'll let them go. I won't lose sleep. I wont try to make excuses for them, nor will I attempt to uncover the reasons why. I'll merely accept the fact that, their season in my life has come to an end."
You see, each and every time you allow yourself to be torn apart when people "turn shady" on you, you're allowing them to manipulate your emotions. You voluntarily give control over to them and this is dangerous.
Listen; you cannot regulate other people's patterns of behavior, so don't even try. Instead of getting all bent out of shape, dust your shoulders off and keep moving.
Just make sure your heart is right before the Lord; don't hold any grudges. You can't let bitterness and resentment take root in your heart. Ask God to help you forgive. Then you can freely move on and thank God for revealing their true character.
We assume that just because someone has the title, "best friend" or "family" that automatically means they will be loyal to us... but nothing could be further from the truth! That's why the Lord will sever some ties in our lives. He clears our space, so we won't continue to unnecessarily endure hardship and hurt at the hands of those who don't have our best interest at heart.
I know it's not easy when people you trusted turn away from you. During the course of my own life I have learned a lot about how quickly individuals can change. One day they love you. The next day they aren't speaking. But it does you no good to "cry over spilled milk". Anyone who can walk away from you that easily may have never been worth having in the first place.
Let them go. When you do, God will repopulate your circle with individuals who are equipped and ready to go where God is taking you. Begin to see yourself in a different place where you're free of all of the limitations and hurts of your past. It's a new day in your life!
There's a song by Kirk Franklin that perfectly encapsulates the message I'm attempting to relay. I've posted the video below. Let it minister to you!
Until next time... may you be empowered to prosper!
